The last leg of Sunburn Arena came to a close in the city with DJ Tiesto playing for a packed ‘field’. And what a performance it was! And though we must mention that the horrors of terrible parking and long lines can be forgotten for the two hours of absolute crazy EDM and the sky touching energy levels at the concert – we do wish we had a little more of the man!The 3-city tour covering Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi was only the music icon’s second trip to the country in almost a decade. Each country is unique but India has great fans with tons of energy. This is my second time in India. I came here back in 2008. I really like India, it has a very distinctive culture,’ says the DJ. So where did the music mania come from? ‘I grew up in Breda. We’re all influenced by our surroundings and Holland had a big influence on me. There are so many great producers and DJs from Holland, so kids look up to them. As a teen I used to listen to a lot of rock music. Def Leppard, Van Halen, Iron Maiden to name a few. Later started DJing for local house parties in my teens,’ he explains. I focus on making music, my shows and the fans. I love sports so that’s always a great way for me to unwind,’ says the man and we are all smiles!

Kolkata: A 35-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood inside Nakhoda Masjid on Tuesday morning. A housekeeping staff saw the man and informed his seniors. The victim, identified as Shaikh Faisal, was rushed to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).According to sources, the staff had gone to the second floor of the masjid for cleaning at around 8:30 am on Tuesday morning. On entering, he saw Faisal lying in a pool of blood and a hammer found beside him had blood stains on it. Police rushed to the spot and took the victim to CMCH where he is currently admitted. “Our cleaning staff saw the injured person and informed us. Apart from Fridays due to Jumma Namaz the masjid remains less crowded. As the second floor on Tuesday had no devotees, none of us visited. Police are investigating the case. The accused person is believed to be a Bangladeshi and might be known to the victim,” said Qasmi. He had recognised the accused but could not recollect his name. The only thing he knows is that he is a Bangladeshi national. Based on the information, the sleuths have initiated a case on charges of attempt to murder. Police are checking the CCTVs of Nakhoda Masjid for clues. Forensic experts had visited the masjid and collected samples from the spot. It is learnt that Faisal deals with foreign currency exchange. The sleuths suspect that he might have had some deal with the accused and a conflict had occurred.
