first_img Tags: girls tennisliverpool A fine regular season by the Liverpool girls tennis team meant that it returned to the Section III Class A tournament – but it did not stay long.As the no. 4 seed, the Warriors were at home for Tuesday’s quarterfinal match, but it came against undefeated no. 5 seed Christian Brothers Academy, who proceeded to eliminate Liverpool in a 5-2 decision.Both of the Warriors’ points came in doubles, where Juila Schewe and Angelica Underwood rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 win over Grace Catalano and Aubrey Mills as Diana Kozenyatko and Gabby Underwood handled Lily Geneocco and Maddie Tallman 6-2, 6-1.Elsewhere in doubles, Sheridan Bryerton and Kaia Wallingford went to three sets, but lost 6-2, 6-7, 10-5 to Sophie Schultz and Schutie Zirath as Megan Polhamus and Sarah Watkins fell to Hanna Kang and Annie Kilmartin 6-1, 7-5.CBA dominated in singles, too.
