first_img View post tag: South Survitec Group Limited (Survitec), world-wide manufacturers and distributors for the marine, defence and aerospace survival technology industries, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by The South Korean Navy to provide submarine escape equipment for its next fleet of submarines.The multi million Euro contract has been awarded jointly by HDW and Marine Force International LLP as prime contractor for the South Korean procurement authority DAPA (Defense Acquisition Program Administration). The multi-year contract is for around 300 submarine escape suits and 12 submarine life raft systems. The equipment will be supplied and manufactured by Survitec through DSB and will ensure the safety of submariners in escape from depths of 180m and also during surface abandonment scenarios.DSB, part of the Survitec Group and based near Hanover, is a leading company in the development, processing and manufacturing of rubberised fabrics with marine, defence and aerospace applications and draws from long standing experience and expertise.David Griffiths, Vice President of Defence Sales at Survitec Group, added, “We have a long-standing and successful partnership with HDW and we are very pleased to have been awarded this new contract because it demonstrates once more, that Survitec offers a one stop shop for all submariner safety and survival requirements.
