The police have warned the public to stick to the maximum speed limit on the Southern Expressway.A statement by the police said that most accidents reported on the highway have been as a result of drivers going above the speed limit and being unable to control the vehicle. The police said that since 2011 there have been 6 accidents on the expressway with seven people being killed. So far cases have been filed against 5174 drivers for speeding since the expressway was declared open in November 2011. The police said that the maximum speed limit of 100 kmh is being strictly enforced on the expressway.
